Founded in 1997 by Ben and Pam Patterson, Agape House offers a home and school for boys ages 12-16, and girls ages 12-18 who come in hopes of overcoming cyclical abuse through educational, spiritual and emotional support. Agape House offers a 10-month program led by licensed educators, counselors, house parents and resident assistants to aid in the healing process. Individualized educational programs for at-risk students based on educational and emotional needs rather than age.

Community Action was founded in 1965 as part of Lyndon Johnson’s “War on Poverty” initiatives. Their focus has always been to prevent and reduce poverty in local communities. The agency provides over 20 anti-poverty programs and services for individuals and families ranging from childcare to affordable housing, emergency shelter, weatherization, health care and education, and employment and training programs.
Mt. Zion House for Men
Mt. Zion House is a residential rehabilitation facility which works with men caught in life-controlling addictions to find freedom through faith in Christ. The residents get into stable employment and learn to apply Biblical principles in their life decisions.
New Beginnings APFV

New Beginnings APFV provides comprehensive, compassionate support and services to people affected by domestic abuse, sexual violence, stalking and human trafficking. This includes crisis intervention, safety planning, legal advocacy, individual counseling, housing advocacy, children’s services, support groups, medical advocacy, and information and referral to other relevant community resources.

SFFC engages a network of highly screened and trained volunteers who serve as host families (open their homes to children from families in crisis), family friends (provide mentoring/emotional support to families), family coaches (assist parents to meet their goals) and resource friends (provide goods/services for families receiving services).
Spirit of Hope Homeless Shelter
Emergency shelter for homeless men that travels from site-to-site on a weekly basis October through April. 3 meals daily and safe overnight sleeping accommodations.
The Salvation Army
The Salvation Army provides community assistance in the form of food, clothing, shelter, utility assistance and other emergency help in the Walworth County area. Additionally, The Salvation Army offers the following state-wide services: the Adult Rehabilitation Center; a 90 day program for the chronic substance abusive male; camping experiences for senior citizens at The Salvation Army’s, Army Lake Camp in East Troy; and state-wide disaster services.
Twin Oaks Homeless Shelter
Twin Oaks is more than a shelter, though that is indeed one of its many functions. Residents receive emergency housing for up to 60 days, in one of the shelter’s 12 units. In addition to shelter, they receive professional and individualized case management, giving them the opportunity to alleviate an immediate crisis and focus their energy on finding or maintaining employment and stable housing.

The Walworth County Housing Authority’s (WCHA) primary function is to administer the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program. This program provides rental help to eligible low-income families and individuals.
